Google Apps Migration Tool for Lotus Notes

A week after shedding their beta label, Google Apps is making more progress in becoming enterprise-ready. Yesterday, they released a migration tool for IBM’s Lotus Notes. The tool will use a familiar notes interface for IT administrators to migrate users’ email, contacts, and calendar. Migrations will be performed on the server side so Notes users can stay online during the process.

Valeo, a leading automotive supply company, recently migrated their 30,000 employees to Google Apps from Lotus Notes. As one of the largest Google Apps enterprise deployments to date, this move helped Google Apps gain more enterprise credibility.
